NORTH PALM BEACH OUTPATIENT MENTAL HEALTH TREATMENT PROGRAM

North Palm Beach, FL

HOME / LOCATIONS / NORTH PALM BEACH, FL

Virtual treatment available: DMA outpatient programming can also be accessed via online telehealth services.

Our treatment center in North Palm Beach offers day treatment programs providing partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) levels of care, Monday through Friday. We support adolescents between the ages of 11 and 17 (in-person PHP and IOP) and adults age 18 and older (virtual IOP) of all genders who are struggling with various mental health concerns. Here, patients benefit from one-on-one therapeutic support as well as group sessions in a compassionate environment of peers; they can safely practice new skills that are transferable to home. Additionally, all patients in PHP receive psychiatric evaluations and follow-up appointments weekly.

The treatment program is designed to assist patients in developing insight into their mental health issues and support them and their families in developing new, healthy patterns of thinking to apply to the home, educational and social settings. The program promotes emotional regulation and awareness by utilizing therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), psycho-dynamic and behavioral modification, along with experiential therapy through art or yoga.

Families are integrated into the work with weekly multi-family group sessions, homework and family meetings. We provide a safe and supportive environment in which our patients can begin to understand and change negative behaviors and unhealthy coping skills.

The 4,500-square foot North Palm Beach facility is located right on US Highway 1 in a professional building adjacent to waterfront homes, just moments from the beaches of the Atlantic Ocean.

Insurances we accept at this location include but are not limited to Anthem Blue Cross, Cigna, Beacon, Unicare and Kaiser. Please remember that the insurances we accept change frequently. Our insurance team will verify your coverage.

Katelyn Camden, M.A., MFT

Katelyn is a licensed marriage and family therapist. She graduated with a master's degree in psychology and a professional diploma in marriage and family therapy from Kean University in New Jersey. She worked for eight years as a behavioral assistant working with children and families in the community. She completed her internship at Family Service League in Montclair, NJ providing therapy to individuals, couples and families. Katelyn has worked in substance use disorder treatment centers with adults who struggle with addiction, anxiety, depression, co-dependency, trauma and other various disorders. She brings relapse prevention strategies to both substance use disorder and mental health settings. Katelyn practices using a family systems approach. She believes that the patient's family system affects the overall interaction within the family. She hopes to help patients gain support from members in their immediate subsystem. When the family functions together as a united front, they can provide support to one another. She is an active member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT).

PRIMARY THERAPIST

Ashley Appell, RCSWI, MSW

Ashley joined the Discovery Mood & Anxiety Program team in 2021 and has been working as a primary therapist. Through individual, family and group therapy, she helps adults and adolescents develop the skills needed to cope with everyday stresses and heal past traumas. Ashley received bachelor's degrees in dietetics and psychology from the University of Florida. In 2021, she graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a master of social work. While obtaining her master's degree, Ashley interned at Active Community Health Center and Broward County Public Schools. She worked with adolescents who struggled with anxiety, depression, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, trauma and other various disorders. During therapy, Ashely utilizes a client-centered, person-in-environment approach and practices cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy and motivational interviewing to facilitate change. When not at work, Ashley enjoys spending time with friends and family, exercising, playing with her dogs and reading selections from her never-ending book list.

Primary Therapist

Daniel Staples, RMHCI

Daniel joined the Discovery Mood & Anxiety Program as a primary therapist in February of 2021. He holds a masters in mental health counseling from Palm Beach Atlantic University and aspires to pursue a doctoral degree to continue building his own competency while educating future clinicians as they enter the field. Daniel's experience in child welfare, substance abuse and trauma work inspired him to help individuals achieve the best versions of themselves and lead a satisfied life. He now works alongside patients to increase their self-efficacy and understanding of how environmental and internal factors have led to presenting problems, which helps reduce the impact of trauma and mood dysregulation. When not at work, Daniel enjoys spending time with his wife, watching movies, cooking and playing music.
